I LOVE Easter. I think it is one of my most favorite holidays. We had a wonderful Easter with our own little family this year. We celebrated on Saturday and had such a good time teaching the boys about different Easter traditions.
Griffin showing me his bunny bag he made at school. He came home and was excited to tell me about the Easter bunny and that he found lots of eggs, some with candy and some with his name on them. I love hearing his stories about what he does at school.
We went to the annual Easter egg hunt at the Castle Dale park. I thought for sure Griffin would be the one out there getting tons of eggs and candy and Gavin would probably just look around at everyone. Griffin had already been on two hunts, one for school and one at story time and he got a lot of eggs but when they said GO, he just stood there so shy and it was Gavin that took off for all the treats. I am always amazed when watching my kids and how they will react to things. Griffin is my social butterfly and EVERYONE is his friend. Gavin is my shy guy that only wants who he wants. So when they switch places like that I am very surprised.
Gavin collecting eggs.
One of the Easter eggs Gavin found had a prize # in it. He won this puppy and has slept with it every night since he got it.
My good friend Cheree is always so good to my boys and gives them holiday treats. Gavin was excited about this egg that had candy in it. They love Cheree and run to her when they see her and call her grandma.
Griffin loved his card from grandma Cheree.
Gavin held on to his card from Grandma Cheree while he ate some Easter candy
Getting ready to color eggs. Gavin was very interested in watching the color dyes dissolve in the water.
Gavin was actually very good with coloring eggs. A few times he did want to throw the eggs in the cup but he learned quickly to be soft.
Griffin just took off on the egg coloring. He was so excited he did not give most of the eggs very much time to sit in the dye.
Gavin saying "see egg" and showing us his colored egg he was so proud of.
Griffin proud of his dark orange egg that he actually gave time to get dark.
Gavin checking out the finished product.
CHESSE!!
Griffin looking for eggs.
Gavin looking for eggs.
Griff had a great time looking for eggs and wanted to hide them over and over and keep looking for them. He hid some for mom and dad to find too.
So proud of his Easter basket full of eggs.
Gavin was much more interested in his new tractor, digger and dump truck than finding eggs.
Gavin LOVES LOVES his tractor. It opens and holds more little trucks inside.
This was the first time we rode together as a family in our Toyota truck. The boys LOVE playing in their "dads" truck and were excited to take a drive out to the desert.
We were going to take the four wheelers, but since it was a windy, rainy day we decided to save four wheeling for another time. I was happy that we braved the weather. It was a little chilly but we made some fun family memories.
The first hill the boys rolled eggs down was huge. They thought it was pretty cool to roll their eggs and watch where they would go.
So they didn't really roll them... it was more like throw them down the hill!!
Good arm Griffin!!
This Easter egg survived being thrown down the hill 3 times!!
Our picnic lunch in the back of the truck. Gotta love egg salad sandwiches, chips and root beer!
The boys went hill climbing while mom and dad finished their lunch.
Victorious!! Griffin was so proud of himself for making it up the huge hill all by himself.
The only way to come down a hill!!
