SaTuRdAy FuN aT tHe ZoO!!

Saturday we decided to take a trip up to the Hogle Zoo with the boys and I am SO glad we did. The weather was perfect, and we all had a wonderful day together.
My sweet Griffin. He thought it was pretty funny that this huge metal elephant kept making noises and sneezing.
I am not sure if it is because we saw the elephants first but they were a favorite. Gavin did not want to leave them. It was SO cute seeing his reaction to all the animals and hearing him say "elephant" "giraffe" "tiger" and all the other animals names. Griff was our guide. He kept the map and would tell us where to go next. All day Griff would ask "mom can I please go over this fence and see them closer" I would always say sorry no, but we would ask at the next animal anyway. Both him and Gavin climbed up the fence at each animal to see them better.
Gavin watching a monkey swing around the trees. "wow" he kept saying.
Gavin loves his dad. He kept close to him most of the day. He was excited every time he saw water he would scream "water, water, water"
Gavin and the lamas.
Gavin chasing the peacock that was walking around the park.
They now have a carousel at the zoo. My boys (well me too) loved it!! They had such a great time riding it. They were already excited just to be on the animals, but when it started playing music, and spinning and moving them up and down.... well the smiles on their little faces were PRICELESS!!
Dad and Gavin
Trying to climb over the fence AGAIN... at least it was just Gavin this time.
Griffin is definitely all boy. He was excited to see all the bugs, lizards and snakes. He kept going back to this particular snake and I told him "that is so scary and disgusting" he said "mom, go look at those (pointing to the little muskrats) those are happy ones you can look at"
Boys and Bears.
I asked Griffin if he was as big as the gorilla and he said "not yet" We turned a corner and there was a statue of a gorilla and I asked him "do you want me to take your picture with that gorilla?" he told me "no, it has boobs"
There Gavin goes again to chase more "chicken" (turkeys)
Another huge hit for the boys and highlight for the day  was the train ride. Griffin was SO excited to ride it and Gavin kept saying "choo choo" during the entire ride. Again, priceless smiles!!
My boys love this black ball in water that they can play with.
Griffin loved playing  in the water and tried his hardest to stop the ball from spinning. He said "maybe next morning I will be strong enough"
We let the boys each pick a souvenir to take home. Gavin picked this panda bear which is now his favorite. He had to sleep with it last night and he keeps showing us all day today "panda, panda"
Griffin found this tube that he could put as many animals that could fit inside. He did a good job stuffing it full and I think he got on of each animal that was in the bin.
It takes A LOT to wear out his little guy. He was to sleep 5 minutes after leaving the zoo. Griffin on the other hand was jammin to dads music and holding the gps (he calls it the map) to help make sure we went the right way to get home. We ended our trip by going to Red Robin. SO YUMMY!!  One of our most favorite restaurants. The boys were extremely good all day and it was a very fun family day together full of lots of smiles and memories to have forever!!

Ten points for taking the kids to the zoo. That is my least favorite place. Tayden doesn't like it either, because it stinks.

You always have a hard time getting yourself to go to the zoo with your kids, but once you get there and see their faces and how much they love it, its priceless. What a fun day! Red robin is also one of our most fav places to eat!

It looks like your boys loved the zoo, and your family had alot of fun. Poor little Gavin was just so worn out. It always makes for a nice ride when the kids fall asleep, its just too bad it wasnt both of them.

Mel! Your zoo pics looked like you had SO much fun! Your boys are my favorite! That is cool that they liked the elephant because my uncle-in-law is in charge of taking care of them! I totally want to go to the zoo - I wish I had some cute little kids to make it more fun!

Hey Mel- just catching up on your cute family. Your boys are so dang cute. Griffin cracks me up. I especially loved your Easter post. It made me miss Emery County Easters. When I tell people here that we go to the desert and roll eggs down the hill I always get strange looks.
