Griffin & Gavin played baseball this past Spring/Summer. They were on a pee-wee league team together that was with a slow pitch machine. I love baseball and am happy my boys wanted to play... they just needed lots of practice :) They had a great coach that pushed them and taught them a lot and by the end of the season they had really improved. It was sure fun watching them play and
Bryan and I were sure proud of our little ball players.
Funny story... At their first game, they got out of the car and I told them to get over to their dug out and get their shirts and hats while I got Brodie and Karalyn out of their car seats. I get over to their dug out and their coach says "where is Griffin and Gavin" I looked around and I said I had told them to come over here. WELL... I looked over and they were in the other dug out, the Yankees dug out.
I yelled over at them to come over here, this was their team and Griffin yelled back "no, we want to be Yankees" It was awesome and I would have loved if they had Yankee uniforms, but they were on I think the best team with the best coach. They got more hits and runs when they played against other teams so good job Cardinals!!
Griffin became a good little hitter... after looking through most of the pictures of him
hitting, he is making this same face in most of them. Must be his focused face for a big hit!
Griffin was interested in catching and his coach was so good to let him try it a few times.
Oh Gavin... he enjoyed baseball, but he also enjoyed playing in the dirt, spinning all the way around when he swung the bat, and just going at his own pace. He was up to bat once and between EVERY pitch he would toss the bat up and catch it and then SLOWLY get ready for the next pitch. His coach would yell from the mound "get ready Gavin" every time. He also always had his pockets full of toys and legos and had to pull them up before every pitch... gotta love him!!
